How to Read SA Bookmaker Odds
South African bookmakers (Betway, Hollywoodbets, Sportingbet) all display decimal odds. A decimal odd of 2.50 means for every R1 you bet, you get back R2.50 (R1.50 profit + your R1 stake).
The implied probability tells you what win chance the bookmaker is pricing in. Odds of 2.00 = 50% implied probability. Odds of 3.00 = 33.3%. If you think the real probability is higher than what the bookmaker implies, you have a value bet.
American odds are used mainly by US-facing sportsbooks. Positive (+150) means profit on R100 stake. Negative (-200) means stake needed to profit R100.
